Steve Kennedy will be hosting Jonathan McLurg on behalf of the Songwriters Circle of Eastern Ontario, for a showcase of his songs and a discussion about his process as a lyricist and melodist. With a contemplative wisdom that belies his young age, Jon McLurg spins songs of truth, reflection, melancholy, contentment, and spirituality. Influenced by the music of Mississippi John Hurt, Hank Williams, Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, John Prine, Leonard Cohen, and Bob Dylan, Jon has entered into the realm of the songwriter with class, abundant talent, and wit, and his soft but smooth voice and elegant finger-style guitar playing are the perfect vehicle for his songs.
