Wayne Lowrie’s Article in the Montreal Gazette, Online Edition

We searched in vain for a hard copy of this paper the day after we discovered we were featured in the Gazette’s Entertainment Section! Darnit, every store we went to was very structured with their recycling practices! One kind business owner even phoned his other convenience store to

see if, by chance, there might have been a copy of the previous day’s paper lying around… alas, no! But we’re happy to have the online edition of the Montreal Gazette, featuring this article by Wayne Lowrie.

Wonderful Write-Up On Carolyn Flower’s Website About Les Miz Fundraiser for Royal Theatre

August 02, 2016

How do passionate artists help "Raise the Roof" for one of their own? They put on a show of course!

Make no mistake; it takes a village.  There’s strength in numbers when the character of each villager is powered by passion and determination and when everyone decides that supporting one of their own will become their unique summertime project.  Tous ensemble – all together.

The Kingston Whig Standard Also Featured Les Miserables Fundraiser Story In Their Entertainment Section!

July 21, 2016

Wayne Lowrie’s article on “En Chanson Les Miserables In Song”, the 25th Anniversary cast reunion fundraising concert benefiting the Royal Theatre Thousand Islands, really made the rounds! This is a real feel-good story, about friends helping friends through a bit of adversity in getting a project on its feet. The funding that Kevin John Saylor is hoping to soon secure through an Aboriginal grant and loan program will cover the projected budget part way, but there is strong optimism that the success of this one-night-only event will manage to cover the complete project.

A Little Help From Friends – FRONT PAGE of the Gananoque Reporter!

July 20, 2016

Wow! Wayne Lowrie’s great article on the Les Miserables 25th Anniverary Reunion Concert Fundraiser for the Royal Theatre Thousand Islands is gracing the FRONT PAGE of the Gananoque Reporter! -with a very nice picture of Kevin and me working on music inside the theatre.

If you pick up a copy, you can see, folks, the place is still a work-in-progress… but it’s also a building that is very much alive with music and creativity of all kinds, and this concert is going to help us to move even further forward with the project. Kevin and I are so grateful to all who have been a part of making this BIG dream a reality! It’s going to be great for Gan!

Les Miserables Silver Anniversary Cast Reunion Fundraising Concert for the Royal Theatre, August 19th

July 18, 2016

We are so grateful to everyone who has taken an interest in this fantastic story. Our friends are coming together from near and far to help us with this incredible fundraiser. When Eponine and Cosette understudy, now music school (Opus Academy) owner Marie Claude Bourque put out the word that she was interested in helping her friends at the Royal Theatre Thousand Islands, and in particular her fellow cast-mate Frayne McCarthy, the generous response was overwhelming. Original cast members, musicians, professional design and publicity specialists, and volunteers with a wide variety of talents have all stepped forward, offering their time to make the event possible. August 19th, at the Rialto Theatre, will be a rare opportunity to see this, the finest cast of performers ever assembled to perform this studding piece of musical theatre, together on stage once more.

In 1990 This Group of Excited Performers Were Presented to the Media for World Premiere of Les Miserables in French

July 18, 2016

Here is a photo of the Les Miserables principals as we were presented to the press in 1990. I remember this day so well. It was very surreal… magically surreal. We were all bursting with happiness when this photo was taken. It was the start of an amazing journey for us.

It’s interesting to note that Marc Poulin, who was cast as our Javert, ultimately had to drop out of this World Premiere production because of his battle with cancer. A brave survivor, it is a small, beautiful miracle that Marc will be singing the role of Javert with us for this 25th Anniversary Cast Reunion Fundraising concert benefiting the Royal Theatre Thousand Islands.
